„HELMUT-LIST-HALLE is a project that sets totally new trends for
contemporary arts productions. Finally the experimental power of great
talents can flow freely exceeding existing spatial limits.“ (Peter Oswald)
FLEXIBLE. MODERN. VERSATILE. The year 2002 saw the conversion of a factory shop floor into an event hall of new dimensions that could not have been more successful. There is no limit to what can be arranged here, from exhibitions to circus performances. But who says there should be limits to the imagination?
OPEN. CHALLENGING. PERFECT ACOUSTICS. The HELMUT-LIST-HALLE owes its clear structures an unobtrusive elegance to its past and to the ´sure instinct´ of its architect, Marcus Pernthaler. The equipment an the technical standard do the rest. Not to mention the service team, who is committed 100% to making each and every event a great success.

HELMUT-LIST-HALLE: a new world of sound and light that transcends established
standards of perception and cancels out the borderlines between
technology and art. This perfect link-up of brilliant acoustics and
flexible layout offers 2000 m2 of variable performance area for an
audience of up to 2400 and a wide variety of different productions.

As a result, the HELMUT-LIST-HALLE meets all the
requirements of the experts involved in preliminary planning of the
facility, particularly with regard to technical equipment and acoustic
quality. Solid timber inside creates an acoustic shell. The existing
steel structure dating from the middle of the last century is the
framework for a three-dimensional composition of clearly accentuated,
staggered sections of the building. These sections arranged along the
longitudinal axis of the old hall are joined up to create a sequence of
high, spacious room formations. The lightness and transparency of the
steel frameworks and glass facades contrast with the solid exposed
concrete structures used for acoustic purposes.
Glass, steel and
concrete are the predominant materials, reminiscent of the industrial
history of the overall complex. Warm-hue wall coverings in the foyer
and large-surface solid wood elements in the event room create an
ambience in keeping with the future purpose and improve the vibration
behaviour and sound quality of the central area for music performances.
Metal meshes close off this central area on the front sides and,
combined with the reinforced concrete hipped plate behind, are an
important component of the overall acoustic concept.
